It’s show time! I’m very pleased to announce that my latest Circle, Pastoral Variation on the Themes of Love, will be exhibited at the 2010 Sooke Fine Arts Show, July 24 to August 2, 2010.   Pastoral Variation was one of 370 works chosen out of a total of 1,254 pieces submitted by artists from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Painting accepted by exclusive Sidney Fi...

I am delighted to announce that my latest circle painting, Un jardin a Ben Aknoun El Dzayer 1966, has been selected for exhibition at the 2009 Sidney Fine Art Show in Sidney, British Columbia (October 16 to 18).  This work was among the 372 pieces selected from a record-breaking total of 1,436 submissions. Un jardin a Ben Aknoun is a tribute to my childhood home in Algeria. Created from old family photos but mostly from memory, the painting features the beautiful moorish house and gardens - Villa Djennan Baljie - where my family lived in the Ben Aknoun neighbourhood of Algiers...

Lovesong in Tofino...

In August, Lee and Patty visited Kaeli Robinsong and the TacoFino crew in Tofino. Had a stupendous time! Water was lovely, weather was great. It was so exciting to see so many businesses doing so well in this remote town. TacoFino is THE place to eat in Tofino for excellent Mexican fare. These young entrepreneurs work hard for a living and are not to be missed when hungry in Tofino (www.tacofino.com). We had the great pleasure of meeting the delightful George Patterson - such an engaging and generous spirit - at the Tofino Botanical Gardens (a ‘must visit’ when...

New Exhibit at The Village in Victoria...

The Village is Lovesong’s favourite breakfast spot in Victoria: specializing in traditional Jewish cooking, their menu features cheese blintzes, challah french toast and the best poached eggs and turkey sausage in town.  Imagine our delight when Lee was invited to hang a show there.  Jesse Blades and the good folks at The Village are great supporters of local artists and we love them for it. Six of Lee’s limited edition prints are on display from August 1st to September 30th, 2009. We invite you to come out and enjoy the prints - as well as the work of two other...

TacoFino Cantina...

Next time you’re in Tofino, BC, you’ve gotta visit TacoFino, the wildly successful Mexican cantina run by Lee’s daughter Kaeli Robinsong, her fiance Jason Sussman and best buddy Amy Bockner. The “Home of the Fish Taco” is tucked in behind Live to Surf (1180 Pacific Rim Hwy) and serves the best “delicious affordable west coast influenced Mexican food” ever. These guys are so hot, they were the subject of a pilgrimage-documentary even before they opened to the public. Check out “Tuff City Pilgrimage”:  http://vimeo.com/5161847. Proud...
